In Florida, is it required to take a CNA course to be eligible to take the FL CNA state exam?

In Florida, you aren’t required to take a CNA course to be eligible to take the state exam. The Florida Board of Nursing allows individuals to challenge the state exam.

Passing the Florida CNA state exam without taking some type of hands-on training is very difficult even for individuals with caregiving experience. The FL CNA state exam is based on state standards and key points to evaluate individuals’ performance during the exam. Many experienced health care workers fail the exam when challenging it without taking an exam prep course; the reason is their real-life job standards are not the same as the standards for the exam. In the state of Florida, the clinical portion of the exam is based on 22 clinical skills, each exam taker gets an instruction card with 3 clinical skills randomly chosen; handwashing and indirect care are also part of the clinical test (5 skills total). The written portion of the exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions. In Florida, if someone fails the state exam three times, completing a state approved 120-hour program is required.

At CNA Kwik Track Orlando you would get the training and tools necessary to pass the state exam on the first try; the CNA class is all about the 22 clinical skills (Hands-on) in a setting similar to the one at the testing site with flexible class hours, affordable, fun and very effective.
